How long does it take to get a car title in Texas, when filing for a lost title by mail?

I just got my car as a gift and traveled up state.When i arrived i realized the tags/stickers expired,but come to find out i through the title by accident.The title has not yet been established in my name so i called the recent owner and had him fill out the necessary form for such.There is a section of the form to whom you would/where you would like the title sent.He sent it promptly and im in wonder how long should it take to get to me.Take in mind im only 3 hours from his location.
