In your opinion and from your personal experience, how do you stick to a decision that you've made?
Whether its what major you finally decided to stick to or what job offer your going to accept and just live with/
i guess what im trying to ask is this: do you go into those decisions only if you know you have a back door out, or do u just think it through then take it and live with it? Or maybe you have a bettr approach?Making a decision and sticking to it?
As a counselor, I recommend this to clients and I do this frequently myself, as well...
When you're making a decision, it's always helpful to try to look at the outcome objectively. If you're chosing between a couple of different options, it helps to take make two columns on a sheet of paper listing each option. then, within that, divide it into two rows - for pros and cons. Making a list of each and putting your options and the possible outcomes on paper can make a real impact.
By way sticking to that decision, remind yourself of the pros and cons frequently. ';well, I could be doing this other option, but would it really be better than the one that I chose?'; Re-evaluate. If you feel that the pros/cons list has changed, then make a new one - rinse and repeat. :)
I hope this helps.
